Free outdoor JIAIDO movement meditation open classes on Margaret Island

What if moving your body could also quiet your mind? This spring, you can find out.

We’re bringing JIAIDO movement meditation outdoors — to Margaret Island, four times across May and June. Whether you’ve been practicing for years or you’ve never heard of JIAIDO before, you’re welcome to join. These are open sessions, free for everyone.

JIAIDO is a movement meditation practice that combines conscious movement, breath and awareness.

You don’t need any experience.
You don’t need to be in any particular shape.
You just need to show up.

Why try JIAIDO?

This may be for you if…

  • your body is tired by the end of the day, but your mind just won’t stop.
  • you would like to move, refresh yourself, and feel present in your body.
  • you want to relax and feel more focused at the same time.
  • you want to step out of your usual routine, but don’t know how to begin.
  • you would like to recharge and regain your energy.
  • you are curious to try a completely new form of movement.

If even one of these feels familiar, it may be worth giving it a try.

When movement, breath, and attention are harmonized, the mind begins to quiet, and it becomes easier to notice what is happening within you.

JIAIDO and the 4 rhythms

JIAIDO is built on the understanding that the four elements — fire, water, air and earth — are not only forces of nature, but rhythms that live within us.

The way we move, breathe and feel is shaped by these same qualities. In practice, we work with them consciously: the movements and the breath are attuned to each rhythm, gradually revealing our relation with them.

Practicing outdoors brings this to life in a particular way. The elements are no longer something to visualise or imagine — they are simply present, around you and within you, and the practice becomes a natural extension of that.

about us

Who are we behind JIAIDO?

The holistic method was founded by Ajiit, spiritual teacher and martial arts master. It is based on his teachings and follows a clear, structured path that connects body and awareness, practice and theory.

The classes are led by experienced and trained JIAIDO guides who have been practicing this path for many years themselves. They don’t only teach the practice, but also deepen it through their own experience – which allows them to guide others in an authentic way. Meet the guides here »

The International JIAIDO Association, as part of its public benefit activities, aims to make the practice of mindful movement and self-development accessible to as many people as possible.

The purpose of the free JIAIDO open classes is to give anyone the opportunity to try this practice and experience its effect on both body and mind.
